Confidence with Care Homes during the Covid Pandemic
For the entire world 2020 has been a challenge. Especially for Care Home residents, their relatives, as well as the staff and their loved ones.
The Covid-19 pandemic has brought many challenges to everyone across the world. But especially it has been a tough task for elderly social care in the UK. Shielding measures to protect our elderly were imposed upon all Care Homes nationally very early on for the safety of our care home communities, UK.
Due to lockdown restrictions Care Homes across the country were forced into closure, preventing visits from Residents' loved ones.
Royal Bay Care Homes always took the highest precautions, following all government guidelines with appropriate PPE and Infection Control guidelines. Regular testing was also adopted in line with government recommendations to ensure the safety of all our nursing and residential Service Users, as well as our Staff.
Royal Bay closures to relative visits during this particularly difficult time when the first peak hit was a hard decision but made in the interests of all of our Service Users. Our amazing Registered Managers put innovative solutions into practice so the closure of Royal Bay Residential Home and Nursing Homes in West Sussex, Dorset, Kidderminster & Kettering, and the problems they encountered were overcome, allowing loved ones to be reunited in the most safest "Socially Distanced" way possible.
When lockdown restrictions were eased it had an incredibly positive impact to all our families.
Approaching winter all of our 100% Covid free care homes will be doing their utmost to maintain Coronavirus free carehomes through their thorough Infection Control procedures, pre-admission testing for elderly care nursing assessments and providing visitor pods or dedicated visitor rooms, with thorough cleaning schedules between each visit.
